Zocalo meet

The front of the Zocalo Grill was relatively quiet, which Henry was glad for. He paced along the sidewalk, waiting for meeting time to come up. He takes a look at his watch, slightly impatient. 6 mintues to go.

He wears a charcoal suit and black shirt, the whole ensemble showing some signs of wear and tear. His shoes are, as promised, mismatched, though not jarringly so. His right is a black running shoe, almost brand new, while the left has dirt marks over it and a white stripe on the side. The Guardian makes sure, one last time, that his pants don't cover up the shoes entirely.

Is Dr Primoria sending this man to check over me? To make sure I find nothing? To report back to her everything I touch?... The thoughts came and went unbidden, his final conclusion a wait-and-see attitude about this whole thing.

Another 3 minutes passed, and then a business-suited, black-haired man passed through the crowd. His eyes were cast downward for a moment. Then they focused on Henry as the man walked forward. As he approached, his hand extended to Henry. "Mr. Henry? I'm your phone friend. You can call me Rod while we're here."

Henry look at everyone passing him in turn, not really expecting the meet to happen early, but still prepared. Once 'Rod' approaches him, he shakes the extended hand with a nod and a smile. "A pleasure," he anwers. He nods towards an alley with extremely limited traffic, adding, "Let's walk and talk."

Once the pair are out of earshot, Henry asks, looking straight ahead, "How much has the Good Doctor told you?". Hell, better start at the beginning.

Cecil followed Henry into the isolated alleyway. [COLOR=Sienna]"I've only recently arrived. From the San Franciso Mysterium, on their orders. Of course, I talked to the Doctor to get officially settled in, and she told me she wanted something found. I was given your name and number, and told to contact you. Nothing on the item or elsewhere, I'm afraid."[/COLOR]

Henry nods, continuing to lead the way into the street at the other end of the alley, and turning to follow the sidewalk on the street at the other end. He speaks quietly enough that the Sleepers around would only see a private conversation.

"It's not a what, it's a who. The Doctor's assistant vanished several weeks back. No contact, no news. After a visit to the man's apartement, I know his disappearance isn't voluntary." Henry would add more, could add more, but he wanted to hear questions, observations from a fresh pair of eyes.

Cecil nodded gravely, continuing and considering the question he would ask. [COLOR=Sienna]"First, are there possible suspects, and second... Do you know Space enough to employ sympathetic methods? I can certainly try that if we can make another visit..."[/COLOR]

"According to the Doctor," Henry replies, with some doubt in his voice, "her assistant Starling wasn't working on anything dangerous. I haven't been able to track down any enemies so far, but this was definitely planned. The apartment was cleaned; No phone, no computer, no nothing. Only a vague resonnance of surprise and violence in a single room." And it wasn't from Starling's normal activities, unless he was into some really kinky stuff.

Henry continues, stating facts, "So noone has been ruled out as a suspect. But none stand out either. As for sympathy, I gathered enough to establish a scrying link. It only lasted a few seconds though, and it was pure darkness. Either our boy is very far from any light, or he's been buried already." He holds before continuing, taking the time Cecil takes to respond to concentrate and sort through what he still had to say. This whole 'cards on the table' business was definitely new to him. And uncomfortable. And unpleasant.

Cecil nodded, aware that some methods might not be effective. But a clever way to take advantage of what you have... yes! [COLOR=Sienna]"I wouldn't think that as difficult as it seems. Could we obtain a detailed map of the city?" [COLOR=Silver]He inquired of Henry. [COLOR=Sienna]"There's something a friend in San Francisco taught me that could be employed to good effect here."[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]

Henry nods, smiling just a tad. "I can guess at the trick. As soon as we find a decent map, we can try it." He hesitates a second. Damn it all, full disclosure was hard. "We have to be very careful, though. I think the scrying connection was dispelled on Starling's side. Either he or someone else doesn't want us to find him." He doesn't explain the ramifications, letting Cecil draw his own conclusions.

Cecil's face took on a tinge of worry. [COLOR="Sienna"]"Either someone is with him to detect and counter spells, or has their own detector running without a caster, I would think. There's still some ways to at the mere least, determine if he's still alive."[/COLOR]
