A Ride

[Steven]

Mark walked up to Obsidian's Temple and walked in, he found someone and asked them if Dirge was there. He asked to speak with her. "Its been a few days, I wanna check and see if everything is okay." He thought to himself as he walked around waiting for her to come up from where ever she was in the Temple.

[Yog-Sothoth]

Dirge heard from one of Obsidian's workers that she had a visitor, and apparently Mark did come to see her. Smiling she let Cerberus lead her up to the worship hall and to were Mark was waiting for her. While she was happy that he stopped by she found herself worrying about what he might think of her since all of her better clothes were in the laundry and so she was wearing some of her everyday clothes.

As Dirge came into view Mark saw that she was wearing some stained but clean bluejeans full of holes, and hole filled t-shirt and zip up jacket. Her clothing looked clean just threadbare and well worn.

I really hope he doesn't think badly of me, she thought straitening out her shirt for the millionth time.

[Steven]

"Hey Dirge, How are yah." Mark asked giving her a small kiss on the Cheek as she came up to him. Not even noticing her cloths he says to her "Ah have ah surprise for yah." If she touches him she will feel that he is wearing his leather Jacket.

[Yog-Sothoth]

Dirge returned Mark's kiss on the cheek and when she moved her hand to his shoulder she felt the leather of his jacket. She smiled up at him spoke, "I'm glad you were able to stop by. My night has gotten much better now that you're here." After she finished her greeting she considered his words and continued with a curious look on her face, "A surprise? what type of surprise?"

[Steven]

"Well Ah know your an animal lover so ah hope yah will forgive me." Mark walks Dirge out of the temple and up to his motorcycle. On his motorcycle rests Mark's skidlid and an extra Leather Jacket. Mark turns her around and says, "Put your arms back," as she does he slides the coat onto her. Its a little big on her small frame but its not too big she is drowning in it. The leather is soft and worn in, the coat is well used but in near perfect condition. The feel of it shows that it has been lotioned and sealed with care.

[Yog-Sothoth]

Dirge left Cerberus in the care of the care of the church workers had made sure he would be good for them. She then let Mark lead her out and place the leather jacket on. She wasn't sure why he was asking for forgiveness. Perhaps he thinks I'm one of those animal rights folks?

"I'm not sure why you're apologizing, I don't think there is anything to apologize for," she said genuinely. She paused for a moment before continuing. "Where are we going Mark?"

Wherever they were going it looked like it would be on his motorcyle. Dirge found herself both excited and concerned. She could count on one hand how many times she has been separated from Cerberus since she lost her sight and she felt more vulnerable in his absence. She didn't think Mark would mean to harm her, he was a deputy after all. But, she couldn't rule it out completely.

[Steven]

"Ah figured we would take ah roll around town for ah bit and then hit tha interstate for some speed. Maybe even roll along tha river for ah bit." Mark explained to Dirge.

"Is this okay?" Mark asked the blind Haunt.

[Yog-Sothoth]

Dirge nodded at Mark and smiled. "Sure, that sounds wonderful. It could be a lot of fun. Got an extra helmet Mark? I wouldn't want to get you in trouble with the police over the helmet law after all." She tugged at the jacket he gave her adjusting its fit on her narrow frame.

[Steven]

Mark grabs his skidlid and hands it to Dirge, "So do you like tha Jacket?" he asked

Ah don't think she gets that tha Jacket is a gift. Mark thought to himself as he sattled up on the bike.

[Yog-Sothoth]

Dirge ran her hands over the smooth leather jacket and nodded, "The smell and feel are really nice. I really like it. I'll do my best to make sure your jacket isn't damaged." She climbed on the bike behind Mark, wrapped her arms around him, and then pulled herself up against his back.
