Appearance
Ariana’s cobalt blue eyes always catch the attention of whoever she’s around. Standing 5'4" she is usually dressed in fashionable attire that gives her a classy look. Usually in bold colors that blend or accent her copper hair. She is generally calm and graceful and can almost always be found with a smile on her face.
History
Ariana, the daughter of Victor and Natalia Donovan lived in New York all their lives. They were down to earth, charitable and had a wide variety of friends and connections. Her father’s parents were from England, and somehow her father still carried the accent slightly. She would mimic her grandparents and father frequently growing up, so she could flawlessly speak with the accent nearly anytime. Ariana spent many nights mingling with guests of her parents at charity events, or parties. She was always in charge of the younger crowd. At times there were many she did not like, but kept her word and entertained them nonetheless. She was not always an only child, her twin Arielle, was killed at 16. They caught the person who did it, Grant Meyer, but Ariana always felt like there was more to it than that. She was told he was from some sort of gang but she never knew from where. Their lives went back to normal not long after the death of her sister. Well… fake normal. Her parents did not speak of Arielle anymore.
At all these parties, there was always one gentleman, Gregory Bainsworth, who would keep an eye on her. Ariana often thought that perhaps Greg had something to do with Arielle’s death, but she would shrug it away. He was a great friend of her father’s. He helped to start his law firm in New York. When Ariana would go out clubbing with her friends or at several other public gatherings, occasionally she thought she saw Greg somewhere in the crowd.
At 22 she had just finished her masters in Journalism. She was formerly an intern at the New York Daily News and was published in many various articles. Her life was amazing, yet it seemed as if things happened a little too easily for her. She had many friends and colleagues to which respected her work as the night life reporter.
Embrace
Ariana was out with people she knew from the newspaper in a very unfamiliar part of New York. They were doing an article on club characteristics in various parts of NY and the club they were in was very different from the norm. While Ariana never really felt out of place anywhere, this time she did. From the moment they arrived at The Lost Rose she wanted to leave, but her friends were oblivious to all the people looking at their table. They had been there a couple of hours and decided it was time to change clubs. Relieved that she was finally leaving, she was suddenly pulled into a limousine that was parked on the street. Restrained and mouth covered a man who she could not see told her that rules were broken and someone needed to pay. Arriving at her home she was kept restrained by a woman who was nearly crushing her. Ariana’s parents were killed in front of her eyes. She fainted.
She awoke to Greg’s voice. She felt indescribably different. Her senses were piqued. Greg explained what happened to her parents, and Ariana. The people who killed her parents an attempted to kill her were part of the Kindred, to which Greg explained. He tried to get there on time but could only save Ariana. Grant Meyer was part of one of these clans that Victor had crossed in legal battles. Greg also told her that Grant did not kill Arielle, she was embraced against her will. Greg couldn’t find her and had been looking for her still. Her death was faked by some very powerful people, but it was to be a warning to Victor for all the problems he caused. Her father did not give up on the legal battle that was causing so many problems. Greg then told her that he was also part of the Kindred and from the Ventrue clan. Arielle was embraced as a Gangrel. That was 2004.
Sacramento
Now seven years later, she was on her way to Sacramento. She needed to start over. Ariana’s editor found her a job reporting the nightlife for the Sacramento Bee. Greg (or so she thought) left her a note to leave because there were going to be some trouble coming and because she’s a reporter, someone may take her out. She was hesitant at first but she was growing weary of the Big Apple. The falseness that she was unaware of before her embrace was much clearer now, too clear to endure without Greg to watch her. Or was he the reason for it after all.
