Current:

Larkin has just entered the Hungry Streets and is working on meeting the denizens of that destitute region.

History:

Larkin Grey is, above all, a survivor.

The scion of a privileged family from Los Angeles, Larkin competed heavily throughout his life. Be it running, or fencing, or archery, he was that lithe kind of athlete who cared a great deal about being fit. He focused primarily on sports that involved agility and quickly became a competative fencer. His father was an Olympic fencing coach and he was rapidly on the rise, closing on the Olympic team, since he wasn't too busy being the owner of a major pharmaceuticals corporation.

Then the unthinkable happened. The corporation was sued for in a chain of class actions. Arson destroyed the family home. His father was shot in a drive-by in downtown L.A. that caused a huge car accident, killing his mother and brother as well. Larkin Trask went from trust-fund baby to pauper in the space of a year, and he found himself living in rundown apartments. But he was clever -- oh, how clever -- and quick. Larkin began making money on the side stealing, sneaking and making himself unnoticed. He moved to Portland for a bit, taking advantage of the cheaper market and trying to make a living for himself as a competative fencer.

And he did... until he made an unliving of it.

A patron of the fencing circuit and a vampire found him, and Larkin Trask was outdone by a Celerity-wielding Mekhet by the name of John Reeves, who tried to make Larkin his own little blood slave. In his escape, Larkin was cut across the eye in what turned out to be the duel of his life. However, the vampire bested him, ramming a rapier through his chest. As the lad bled out, he was Embraced. Reeves, having taken his life from him, tought Larkin the basics of his new unlife, sneering the entire time as a terrible victor would over a defeated opponent.

But Larkin asked a lot of very good questions before getting the fuck out of dodge and heading to Sacramento, where Reeves couldn't find him. He spent a year learning about the occult from a new mentor and friend he met in the district and studying up on his kind.

His entry to the Hungry Streets comes three weeks after the disappearance of that mentor, Tia deBries, who he presumes to be dead.
