Former Mage Herald of the Consilium

Pulp Noir is a Mastigos of the Free Council who recently arrived in Sacramento from Toronto where he made a name for himself during the trial of a Free Council member for the murder of the Moros Councilor. Acting as the head of the defense team, Pulp learned that there was more to the incident than a simple murder, the defendant had been mind controlled in order to act as an assassin for another party. Seeking the truth in order to save a friend from both Consilium "justice" and a hit order from the Guardians of the Veil, which was to carried out by the endangered Mage's own Guardian lover, the Mastigos decided to go on the offensive. Using a distraction, Pulp, two members of his Cabal and an Awakened journalist raided the HQ of Guardians, learning that the Order's leadership really had nothing to do with the larger conspiracy and simply did not want the case to see a Consilium trial. The Guardians agreed to call off the assassination order once they realized that the crazy little group was the best chance they had to smoke out the conspirators, who they feared were Seers of the Throne.

During the Trial, Pulp managed to dismantle the prosecution's case and proved that there was someone behind the murder who had used the other Mage as a patsy. Eventually it seemed like even the prosecutor, the Mastigos councilor, had admitted defeat by no longer presenting anymore evidence, allowing Pulp to make a plea to the rest of the Council to begin an investigation to find the real threat. The Mage on trial was found not guilty and a special session of the Consilium was to be held just two hours later to begin the search.

However at that session, the Conspiracy revealed itself and it was not what the Guardians had feared. The Mastigos and Acanthus Councilors, representing the Silver Ladder and a Militant Faction of the Arrows (with members from the other orders mixed in), demanded the resignation of the Hierarch. They had set the whole plan in motion and the Trial itself had been a Xanatos Gambit to give them a reason to make their move. Pulp watched with his guts in a knot as more Mages, including members of the Free Council, joined the ranks of the bloodless Coup.

Impressed with the tenacity Pulp showed during the investigation and trial, the new Hierarch (the former Mastigos Councilor) offered the young Libertine the Path's seat on the Council. Deciding to take the seat in order for the opposition to have a voice, he took the seat. Then the story broke.

The Awakened journalist who had stuck with the group published her own "newspaper" using Prime Magic that was popular among the Consiliums in the region. Suddenly every Awakened had an opinion on what happened and Pulp became Toronto's very own Harry Dresden, a Mage who created divided opinions. To conservatives in the established Diamond Orders he was proof of just how reckless the Free Council could be, to Libertines and liberals in the other four Orders he was freedom fighter, willing to live by and defend the ideals Mage society loved to quote but usually ignored.

Seven months after joining the Council, Pulp resigned his seat and left the city of Toronto.

Nimbus: The temperature of the air around Pulp increases slightly and there seems to be the smell of fresh leather nearby. The Shadow he casts seems to have substance, appearing larger and looking like it is in 3D.
