There once was a band that had a very special roadie working under them. They called this roadie Cow-pie, he had been just some ugly homeless bum they spotted wandering the back roads when they picked him up. He turned out to be quite useful with heavy lifting so they let him stay on for pay. At first.

Cow-pie was of course a Promethean. He was glad to have some sort of job to work toward at first but it wasn't long before his disquiet set in and made the band members more and more obsessive about him. They became crueler, more demanding. Paid him less, abused him more until finally Cow-pie snapped. He killed every member of the band, ripped the lead guitarist apart with his bare hands, and when he settled down a thought came to mind of how to truly make them pay.

The lead guitarist had been a rather sturdy young fellow, strong and healthy. Cow-pie chose him to become a new Tammuz and repaired his body before burying him in the wastelands. When the new born Promethean ripped himself free of the womb of the earth, he found himself with an chain of iron links around his left wrist, taking orders from another Tammuz. Cow-pie elected to call his new servant Rusty Strings, a fitting moniker he felt for the musician now touched by the earth as he was.

Rusty followed his creator around for about a month, the Tammuz at first enjoying making his former tormentor perform all manner of difficult and demeaning tasks. Eventually though, Rusty grew discontent with this life. One night as Cow-pie slept he stole the guitar case that he had always carried (A keepsake of Cow-pies days on the road) and ran off into the night.

No Promethean is quite sure how, but Rusty managed to relearn a great deal of his old guitar skills. Cow-pie had dedicated himself to combat and improving his body in order to become human. Hearing music and re-learning how to play it back led Rusty to think a different path might fit him. He took to studying humanity through the music they made and used in their everyday lives, trying to understand them through it. Now he wanders the roads, days worth of songs in his head as he lives the life of a modern bard. When the rumors of Route 66 reach him, he heads for the highway to see if the Golden Dawn awaits him there.

Appearance

Rusty is about 6 feet tall, broad shouldered and solid looking. His skin is tanned from a long time on the road, and his hair and eyes are obsidian black. His clothes are constantly covered with road dust, and the chain on his left wrist (though worn) has yet to fall off. He carries his guitar case wherever he goes and whenever he reaches a new town he'll find a place that his disquiet lets him set up for a while and knock out some tunes to make his daily bread.

Disfigurement

Under the mask of humanity Rusty's skin is dry and deeply cracked and pitted like the wasteland he was born from. His eye sockets are dessicated pits, hollow but for a spark of Azoth deep within. Dried by the earth his true from looks dessicated, like a mummy.
