“Starflower” Wilkins hated his name. His parents were stupid hippies out of a by-gone era that thought such names would one day help people like him. Not so much, and as a result he tend to just tell people his name was Fred. Nevertheless, some of his parents hippy ideology just wouldn’t die.

Living on the outskirts of San Diego for the latter part of his adult life, Fred was a bit of a bleeding heart. He was a Coyote for illegal Mexicans, but far from abusing and pushing them around, he often spent more money taking care of them during their trip across the border than he made on the run.

One night, he was escorting a group of about ten over the border, including a precious gem that he did not know existed, and still doesn’t to this day. A family of wolfblooded had decided to cross the border, and when the INS hit their lights on the group, Luna had a different idea of what was going to happen to this family. Waking up, he was revealed the existence of werewolves by a nearby pack who came across him and the dead INS guards. They brought him into the fold, taught him the Oath of the Moon, let him choose his tribe, the Bone Shadows (he could relate very well to their ban) and get his orientation…and then kicked him out. They told Starflower that he can head north if he likes, but theirs no room for him there.

So he left San Diego, and with no better ideas and out of gas money, he lands in Sacramento.
